Rules

Match Format

  • 7-a-side (7v7) small-sided games.
  • Each match is 28 minutes long, with no half-time break.
  • A 4-minute turnaround is allocated between games.
  • All match timings are managed centrally and initiated via a synchronised hooter.

Player Eligibility & Registration

  • Players must register in their appropriate age group for the 2025 season.
  • Each team is permitted one overage player.
  • Players are restricted to playing for only one team throughout the tournament.

Game Rules

  1. Standard 7v7 format applies.
  2. Offside rules are enforced.
  3. Throw-ins are required when the ball goes out of play; foul throws will result in turnovers.
  4. Goal kicks can be taken by any player from within the penalty area.
  5. Attacking players must remain outside the penalty area during goal kicks.
  6. Points allocation: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
  7. Forfeited matches are recorded as a 3-0 loss.
  8. In the event of tied points:
    • Head-to-head goal difference is considered first.
    • Followed by the number of wins.
    • If still tied, a 3-shot penalty shootout determines the ranking.
  9. Players must wear boots with moulded studs; metal studs or screw-ins are prohibited.
  10. Shin pads are mandatory; failure to wear them results in an immediate yellow card.
  11. Accumulation of two yellow cards leads to a one-match suspension; a red card results in a minimum two-match suspension.
  12. Ball sizes:
    • Size 3 for Under 8s.
    • Size 4 for Under 9s to Under 12s.
  13. Goal dimensions are standardized at 5m x 2m for all age groups.
  14. Teams are encouraged to have numbered kits.
    • In case of a kit clash, the goalkeeper must wear a bib to differentiate.

Finals Protocol

  • If a final match ends in a draw:
    • A 4-minute break precedes extra time.
    • 10 minutes of extra time is played without a half-time break.
    • If still tied, a penalty shootout determines the winner.

Referee Guidelines

  • All matches are officiated by qualified referees.
  • Referees operate under the Titan Cup rules, aligned with Football NSW guidelines.
  • Payment Structure:
    • $30 per game for Under 7s to Under 9s.
    • $35 per game for Under 10s to Under 13s.
  • Referees are compensated by the end of each day.
  • Referees under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
  • Referees under 17 are restricted to officiating matches for Under 7s to Under 9s.

Media Consent

  • By participating in the Titan Cup, players and teams consent to the use of photography and videography captured during the tournament for promotional purposes on social media and official platforms.
